36 week 5 day Doctor appointment

Today I had my 36 week 5 day doctors appt... all went well for the most part. I got to see my regular doctor again and had my lovely swab done. she didn't seemed concerned about the growth scan reuslts and really barley mentioned it other then to ask me what the other dr had said and that was it. I did ask her about the IV medications that are given if the swab came back postive and unfortunatley she one of those dr who seems to think that an IV should be put in when you enter the hospital as she mentioend there were many things it was needed for to keep hydrated during labour to admisinter necessary medicens and to help expel the plencta after baby was born helping the uters contract as it needs to do this. I did advise her that i did not plan on having a IV unless there was a clear medical need for it. She had some objections saying how it was necessary and sometimes an emergecny situation would arise in which it was definatley needed... this dosen't make me feel like i need it at all, should some reason arise that i need it my expectaion would be that the nurse who was putting the IV in should be well versed in doing so and able to do so quickly and efficently. She asked me to really think about it and she recommended it but she did also say that it was my decision and they would respect what I decieded. That part was nice to hear as I have already made up my mind that i will not accept an IV unless it is needed. I do not wish to be tired to an IV during my labour and plan on moving freely with out IV restrants as well as eating and drinking as i like throughout my labour. So now I just have to wait to get the results back form from swab... heres hoping that they are negative... my next appt will be next friday, I was a bit dissapoinmted as none of the OBs are going to be doing my appt but rather a person I have never ment who is a family dr that comes in to the clinic there on Friday. So we shall see how that goes... weekly appts from here on out...

Doctors Appointment and Growth Scan

Well heres the story.....according to the nurses i measured 37 weeks 5 days but i am 35 weeks 3 days. They hooked my up to the fetal monitor and monitered babys heart rate, movement and for any contractions, everything there was fine there... they even gave me a hlaf lime popsicle... brings back memories of being in the hospital from garde one.... then i got to see Dr. Clag... can't say he's what i was expecting i throught he would be older and more grey..... lol but anways he said that according to the measurements babys head and femer measured at 35 weeks 5 days and his belly measured at 37 weeks 3 days. oh and the other thing he said was that baby weighed 6lbs and 5 ozs according to the ultrasound again this may or may not be true as these tests tend to be off anways... my next appt isn't till next week with my OB so we will see if she has any comments to add at that time.

5 Weeks Left

OMG.... where has the time gone.... not to much longer and we will be welcoming our little one in to the world.. A few things have happened since my last/first post here... I had a Baby shower on Sunday that was nice i got to see some people I haven't seen in a little while and got lots of great gifts too. My cloth diaper stash is now well under way I have to order a few more things but have been procrastinating on that a litte, thankfully the place I will be ordering from is also in NS so it will not take long for them to arrive once the order is placed.

I am schduled to go for a growth scan on Monday which I guess also includes some monitering.. its going to be a long afternoon at the hospital, but it will be nice to see baby boy again. I am not putting to much stock in the measurements that they give me during the growth scan as they tend to be inaccurate anyways... seems like theres some test crazy Dr. around here... I had the same feelings about the 1 hour glucose tolerance test however i did it and as i suspected got a false positive that ended up in having to do the two hour test which came back prefectly fine... so we will see how things go and I shall update later!
